We have been given approximately 25 acres in Papua from the Meyah tribe to start a national training center! We view this as one of the most influential ways to help national Christians be taught, trained and eventually placed into church planting ministries. It is our desire to see nationals challenged and given the necessary skills so that they can reach the unreached people groups of Papua and perhaps throughout Indonesia. We would like to see individuals challenged within the scope of their personal gifts. It is our prayer to see individuals working in various church planting efforts, whether it be in reaching remote tribal groups in Papua or leading Bible studies and planting churches in the transmigration camps. Our main purpose is to see that individuals are discipled as Christ commanded in Matt 28 and encouraged to step out into ministry wherever God may lead them. Papua has over 250 ethnic groups alone, yet many are still unreached and are in need of hearing a clear presentation of the Gospel. The present church that has been planted needs good discipleship training and encouragement to understand and seek GodÕs calling for their lives. Individuals need good guidance, direction, and help with the same resources that are available to Western Christians. Many seminaries and theological schools do not offer, or have the time to, follow-up with practical training, discipleship, or missionary schools. Many of these schools and churches are open to help with developing individuals that are willing to step out by faith and pursue ministry. Teaching them how to become church planters, pastors, and leaders provides them not only with academics, but with the skills needed to accomplish whatever ministry God is calling them to. This will allow them to take the knowledge that they have learned and allow it to have a practical outworking in their lives. With this goal in mind, PTC desires to put an emphasis on training, discipleship, on the placement of nationals into ministry, and helping to provide the necessary tools, support, and encouragement to step out into ministry. It is PTCÕs desire to carry out this ministry in fellowship and with the support and encouragement of the local church. |
