Partner Organization in Indonesia

YMP3 was founded in 2002 with a vision to teach, train, and encourage national Christians for ministry. It is the desire of YMP3 to follow what Jesus Christ commanded in Matt 28, "to make disciples", which means seeing people become Christians as well as teaching and training them that they may in turn teach others also. (2 Tim 2:2)

It is our motto, "Training Indonesians to reach Indonesians", for decades Western missionaries have been responsible for the majority of new works. Western missionaries cannot possibly reach Indonesia or the world on their own. It is going to take the help of national indigenous Christians who have been prepared for ministry by teaching and training them how to advance the Gospel and plant churches amongst their own native unreached people groups within their given country or nation.

In 2002, God did the miraculous! He opened up the door of Indonesia to us when YMP3 was able to achieve a non-profit status both in Papua, Indonesia (Irian Jaya) and in the capital city of Jakarta; YMP3 is officially recognized by the government as being a viable national Christian organization.

YMP3 is one of only five non-profit Christian organizations that is headquartered in Papua, Indonesia and officially recognized by both the regional and national Department of Religion.

Several months after the Tsunami took place in Indonesia (December 2004) the government began establishing stronger laws for non-profit organizations and how they may exist. YMP3 has recently gone through, for a second time, the filing of new documents and meeting more stringent laws. We praise the Lord that he has kept his hand on this organization and is allowing us to be recognized as a national non-profit organization. Please continue to pray that this door will remain open for YMP3 to operate in Indonesia.

YMP3, based in Indonesia has several ministries presently taking place in what is the worlds largest Islamic nation. We also have a vision for several future ministries and projects.

- YMP3 is currently translating curriculum into the Indonesian language which will also be used and edited into the Malaysian dialect as well.  

- YMP3 has plans to be involved in putting on workshops and seminars once the BTCP Curriculum has been translated. We already have several Pastors and churches asking for these workshops and curriculum.  

-YMP3 is currently involved in supporting leadership, training, guidance and support to Indonesian Christians, Pastors, leaders and missionaries. We look forward to this ministry growing once the "Pastor and Leader Workshops" begin after having translated the BTCP curriculum.  

- YMP3 also has ongoing church planting efforts in Indigenous tribal areas along with other social and community development projects. YMP3 has also been involved in reaching out to some of the transmigraton camps located in Papua. Most of these transmigration camps are predominate with Muslims that have been moved to Papua from other islands throughout Indonesia.

- YMP3 Visa Sponsorship! YMP3 has helped to provide visas for other Western missionaries and mission boards working in Indonesia since it is relatively hard to get visas in Indonesia. Many missionaries and organizations have found it hard to get or keep visas so YMP3 is open to helping provide assistance and sponsorship to other like-minded Christian ministries. This is also a way for Christian missionaries receiving visas to reciprocate this blessing by helping out with YMP3's overall administration costs.

- YMP3 recently helped to support the relief efforts with the Tsunami disaster victims in Aceh and on the island of Nias by personally distributing water filters, food and other supplies.

- Literacy classes: YMP3 is involved in teaching literacy in several villages amongst various tribal groups in Papua. We are looking to continue sending nationals who have the ability to be teachers to future SIL / Wycliff seminars and workshops.

- PTC- Papua Training Center: YMP3 has been given approximately 25 acres in Papua from the Meyah Tribe to start a national training center! We view this as one of YMP3's most effective ways to raise up national missionaries to be placed in church planting and outreach ministries to the transmigration camps.

- Bookstore Ministry: It is our desire to see this ministry and cooperative venture grow to its fullest potential. We desire to see some cooperative ventures like the bookstore take off and stand on their own. As a cooperative venture we would like to see it provide an income for YMP3's ministries and missionaries. We desire to use this bookstore as a method of outreach to both believers and non believers. We have barely started this ministry however we have been getting Muslims and others in purchasing school supplies and miscellaneous items. There is a great opportunity for this to grow this outreach to begin and hold Bible studies; however it needs financial help to get it off to a good start.

- Social and community development projects: YMP3 has been involved in several social and community projects ranging from making mosquito nets, providing medicine to tribal groups to helping out with the Tsunami relief efforts in Aceh and Nias.
